Event Management

To add an event, choose the "Add Event" link from the main menu.  You will then be presented with many options for your event.  You must specify a title and description for the event.  If you have setup multiple event categories, you will be asked to specify which category the event belongs to.  Next, you will choose an event repetition type.  The repetition types are as follows:

No Repetition
The event will not repeat, it will occur only once on the date you specify.

Yearly
This repetition type is used for annual events such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

Monthly
To have an event repeat on a monthly basis, choose this type.  You can have it repeat every month, every other month, every three months, etc.

Weekly
This will allow you to schedule weekly events.  They can repeat every number of weeks you specify.

Daily
Events will repeat on a daily basis.  Like the others, you can choose the repetition of it to allow for every other day, every three days, etc.

Business Days
This repetition type allows for events to occur only on days of business (Monday - Friday).  It is ideal if you have events at work or are in an organization that doesn't need any type of weekend repetitions.

Weekends
Basically the opposite of Business Days.  It will allow your event to repeat on Saturdays and Sundays during the span of the event.

Select Week Days
Using this repetition you can set the days of the week on which you want your event to occur.  The event will appear only on the days of the week you select.

Advanced
This is the most powerful repetition type.  You will choose the week days and months for the event as well as specifying the weeks of the month.  For example, you can have an event that occurs every 1st and 3rd Sunday, Monday and Thursday of August, September and December every year.  By choosing different options here you have more power over the repetition of the events.

For each repetition type above you will have the option for the event to "Repeat Indefinitely" or specify and ending date for the event.  The "Repeat Indefinitely" option will allow the event to keep occurring forever based on the choosen method of repetition.  If you specify the ending date for an event, no more occurrences of it will be allowed after the date you choose.  Allong with the repetitions above, you will also have the option to exclude certain dates from the event.  You will be presented with "Exclude Dates" options where you will be able to stop the event from happening on a date which it would normally occur.  This is useful in a situation like an organization scheduling a weekly meeting for a project, but the meeting for next week is cancelled do to a holiday.  The date for that meeting could be included in the excluded dates and therefore would not be displayed in the calendar for that week.

After all the options are set, just click the "Add Event" button to put it into the calendar.  You can then use the "Event Manager" to edit/remove events from the calendar.
